Dr. Joachim K. Aust, MD

Dr. Aust is a general medical practitioner running a practice in Family Medicine in Germany. He started  research  in Internal Medicine while studying at Freiburg University in 1977. Today his medical practice specializes in patients having diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and obesity, with particular interest in special skin and foot problems associated with diabetes mellitus and other internal disorders.

Dr. Aust has lectured on various medical issues at nursing schools, physiotherapy schools and cosmetic schools throughout Europe and is actively involved in the medical education program at the university- associated District Hospital of Villingen-Schwenningen.

Dr. Aust is a popular speaker in North America where he has found an immense demand for education in aesthetics and professional pedicures, a need which the cosmetic industry has only been able to partially satisfy. Consequently in 2000 Dr. Aust established MEDBASICS, an agency managing medical experts for hire as speakers/lecturers at schools, aesthetic institutes and podiatry schools, and as seminar/workshop facilitators at cosmetic companies.

As Medical Director of NASP and an integral part of the teaching team, Dr. Aust complements and extends the NASP curriculum with his expertise in the skin dysfuntion of the feet, in foot problems related to diabetes, in disorders and diseases of the lymphatic system and in other foot related problems.
