Level 1 - Advanced Pedicure C-POD Program  - 4 days

  • Foot Care as a profession/Recognize and Recommend
  • Introduction to foot structure, body alignment, biomechanics & how these impact the pedicure
  • Structural deformities of the foot
  • Diseases and disorders of the skin & nail
  • Understanding the skin on the feet
  • Different products used in the management of skin and nail problems
  • Specialty nail services
  • Sanitation, disinfection, sterilization
  • Anatomy of the foot
  • Implications of diabetes and chronic illness on the pedicure
  • Marketing and sales – promoting yourself
  • Practical experience working on each other and on models
  • Introduction to case studies

 


Level 2 - Infection Control - 1 day

  • Microbiology - what you should really be concerned about
  • Ingredients in disinfectants - what they can and can't do
  • Levels of disinfection for different aspects of the spa
  • Spaulding classification of instruments
  • Proper cleaning & disinfecting of footbaths
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Set up a protocol for your spa & monitor its compliance
  • Recommended for everyone in the Beauty Industry, not only pedicurists
  • Receive a certificate indicating advanced knowledge of Infection Control

 


Level 3 - Comprehensive Foot and Leg Evaluation - 4 days

  • Anatomy
  • Biomechanics
  • Gait using video camera
  • Sports injuries & related surgery
  • Systemic diseases affecting the foot
  • Structural conditions
  • Relationship of Pathology to Gait and Biomechanics
  • Foot examinations

 


Level 4 - Advanced Skin and Nail Pathology, Diabetic Foot Syndrome - 2 days

  • Structure and function of the skin
  • Skin disorders of the lower extremities
  • Chemicals components & products used in foot care
  • Diabetic foot syndrome
  • Lymphatic problems of the lower extremities

 


Level 5 - Residence Practicum – 1 week

  • Review of case studies
  • Hands on practicum
